Embarking on a brief two-game road trip, the Indiana football team (4-3, 1-2 Big Ten) faces Northwestern (4-3, 1-2 Big Ten) in Evanston, Ill. The Hoosiers and Wildcats will meet at Ryan Field (47,130) on Saturday, Oct. 24. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CDT/noon EDT and the game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Jenkins in the second quarter of Saturday night’s game at Indiana, Illinois had its first opening-half touchdown against a Football Bowl Subdivision foe since last Nov. 15. Not only that, Jenkins’ score gave the Illini their first lead against an FBS opponent since last Nov. 8.

It wasn’t always pretty, but IU football will take a win (Terre Haute Tribune Star)

The trend line was going in the wrong direction for the Indiana University football team. A better-than-expected performance in a 36-33 loss at Michigan was followed with an as-expected performance in a 33-14 loss to Ohio State followed by an atrocious showing in a 47-7 loss at Virginia. Ben Chappell gave the defining quote after the Virginia game: “That wasn’t our team.”

Chappell Earns First Big Ten POW Honor

Indiana junior quarterback Ben Chappell shared Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors with Michigan State wide receiver Blair White, the conference announced Sunday evening. The accolade is the first of Chappell’s career and the first for a Hoosier since Kellen Lewis (Sept. 1, 2008).
